Less is more
Over the past couple of weeks I have had my laptop off until 1pm each day. Would you believe if I said that despite this I’d doubled my work output?
Despite initial reservations about what I thought would be reduced working hours, changing from being “always on” to having a set block of assigned working hours has reduced my stress (because I’m not trying to juggle kids while working, or work while parenting, which usually results in both getting neglected!) it’s allowed me to get stuff done.
Of course I only have the opportunity to do this because my partner’s work hours have changed, which is a luxury many don’t have. However, this has taught me that I can’t always have it all and that multitasking is not the answer to everything. Sometimes we have to do less to achieve more.
